TMJ Referral Protocols

TMJ referrals are currently triaged to assess if a patient is deemed suitable for a surgical opinion. It is mandatory that patients with TMJ dysfunction have undergone a course of non-surgical therapy prior to seeking a surgical solution.​

Please include details of pain history, functional difficulties such as eating and yawning, mouth opening limitations and present or absent joint sounds. This information is extremely helpful when triaging and can help the patient save on time and costs if not a suitable candidate.

We accept third molars, trauma and orthognathic referrals.
